I'll end with this one, such a typical sight around here. As you can see from the other 40 pictures, life is anything but dull in Rwanda. Street sides seem to be full of walking and bicycling people. The rural countryside is quite varied. You'll see people cutting tall napier grass along roadsides for there 1 or 2 cows or someone working their vegetable along a street boulevard. Apparently a large percentage of Rwandans have some form of land ownership, eventhough the largest percentage is less than .1 hectares or approximately a 1/4 acre. Land ownership and especially cattle ownership establishes cultural richness. The problem with cattle ownership is that it doesn't matter if the animal is productive or not...numbers are the important factor.
These pictures have all been from the Kigali region. On Monday, March 15 I will be travelling to the north and eastern part towards the Ugandan border. We are to spending the entire week there since this area is the largest cattle and dairy production area.
Tomorrow being Sunday, my translator has invited me to his Anglican church for an 8am English service. Another acquiantance has already offered me to accompany him to a Pentecostal service the following Sunday. So the daily diversity is also complemented by Sunday diversity as well.
It continues to be a pleasure to be here but it's great to hear from outside world as well so feel to post any comments or even 'SKYPE' me at 'howdy2world' or email at h2cvink@gmail.com. Leave me a message at either address if I'm not available; maybe we can catch up with each other. Remember if you have enjoyed this blog feel free to pass it on.
